Happy New Year to you. We have just come back from Vancouver and everything has been a blur – the painter is due in tomorrow to paint the lounge and dining room so you can imagine the work to remove everything as he is also going to put paper on the ceilings! The sideboard isso heavy that we will have to jack it up and put it on silicone glides to slide it hopefully across the carpet. We saw the New Year in from Alan’s flat on the 23rd floor above West Georgia Street. Two streets away is Robson Street and the custom there is for every car in the city to drive along there in among the crowds and sound their horns constantly. Another tradition is to rattle your pots and pans on the balcony! Anyway we both hope that you are well settled in Milan and that 2008 will be a very happy year for both of you.
