Thanks also for the compliment. It is, indeed, a really nice area of Milan and although we still have some ugly buildings, of course, many are from 1900 through to about 1930 and, for me, they are really attractive (both inside and out)

Decoro architettonico is a technical phrase and it refers to the style of the building that according to ‘Codice civile’ must be respected. If you google “Decoro architettonico rispetto” you find a number of interesting results, but the legalese is hard to grasp even for an Italian.

The artistic heritage of a city should be protected by the law (as probably it is). I wonder if such changes are against the regulations. Besides there are some good PVC windows that are modern and solid but imitate a bit the look of the old and historical ones.
