ANd your writing today is wonderful – and I might add that you and my son Dolan think quite the same about such things. I too have qauestioned my faith, my armor – and yet I wear it still because for me it is protective – I so agree with your point and Dolan’s about what I/we do is about us and not about God or life after death – and I recall vividly Dolan asking me “how many times have you stopped trying because you turned it over to God!!??” I must admit, I have done that. This is a vast and personal discussion and you have done very well expressing your views and beliefs.
