Luckily, Gail, they don’t happen that often. We don’t really have a Christmas do or anything like that. Ah well, it’s over …… for another 10 years, I guess. Hopefully I’ll be doing something else by then!

Hi Andy – I never liked company parties/events either. I found them so fake and pompous with all the ‘upper-echelon’ swooning and mingling with us commoners. At our company CHristmas party every year, Skipp, after a few drins would go up to the company president and tell/remind him how fortutnate he was to have me working at his company because I am such a good counselor. I swear, every year! Too funny. And I did enjoy seeing someone who was always stiff and stand offish in the work place “let loose” after a few drinks and sing a song off-key. on the microphone believing they sounded good! But all-in-all, I am so glad those days of company parties are behind me.

Yes, I know they do (morph into real discussions)…..sometimes – but very unlikely in this case.
Me too! He is back next weekend (not this one) but gets back late on Friday and flies off again early Monday. Still, it’s better than nothing.

Hi Andy,
I don’t like small talk either. I can see what you mean: you can’t talk about real life with people you barely know. However, small talks might morphed into real talks! It happened to me while in Canada and I was both delighted and suprised.

I’m sorry to hear that F. will be away for so long…
