		<description><![CDATA[I pretty much with you on this, Andy - it&#039;s not reform which Italy needs but a mentality/culture change.

Bring about such a change is not going to be easy, even if there is massive evidence to suggest Italy&#039;s buddy system simply does not work - stagnant economy, spiraling unemployment, virtually zero research and development.

On top of all the rest is a political system which is so self-centred, it&#039;s farcical, but Italians, by and large do not see this.  Perhaps it&#039;s because Italians are self-centred too?

There are some very tiny indications that Italy is walking up to the errors of its ways, but I don&#039;t really see any big changes on the horizon, personally.

What Italy needs is fresh leadership, someone with modern ideas and who stands for change.  The trouble is, Italy would never allow anyone, if they exist, to get near its parliament  - unless, of course, they knew the right people ;)
