This is also why I’m hesitant to get another dog: he/she won’t be like Duick and I’m sure I won’t have the same connection. Duick was and will always be my favorite. My boy.

I think it’s normal, Andy.
If you think about it, this what happens with people too: sometimes you do feel an immediate connection, sometimes it doesn’t happen OR it happens more “slowly”, if you know what I mean.

So, take your time.
