I’m not sure about Italian women. It seems (to me) that once they have family, the anxiety about any ache or pain or wind or rain or change in the weather or change in complexion is all transferred to both the husband and the children.
But, yes, le mamme italiane have an incredible influence on the future generations.
For a nation of men that pride themselves on their masculinity, I am amazed by how, in the eyes of the English, they would be considered wimps :-D
