I’ve been off Windows for getting close to 3 years now, and I really don’t miss it. In fact, my mother got so frustrated with Windows Vista that I installed Ubuntu, put a Windows XP skin on it, tweaked Open Office a little for compatibility and she loves it now.

Of course, maybe Linux isn’t a good choice if you need “special features” etc, but I really think that Linux is closing the gap in these areas. But then, being a Linux developer on the side, I am hugely bias!
