2009 Predictions

I don’t do New Year’s Resolutions any more. Not least because they were always something stupid that faded quickly such as “I will start jogging” – which I did do once. Started and finished in January! I mean, getting up half an hour earlier in, what was obviously, the coldest time of the year. Not a really clever thing to do. Personally, I think, New Year’s Resolutions should be made about May or June.

And others that I have tried to follow – lose weight; give up smoking; cut back on drinking; be nicer; make substantial savings; etc., etc.

So, these are NOT New Year’s Resolutions, merely a fact. At least one of these things must happen in 2009 and, maybe, even all of them. Who knows?

Change job.
Move to another flat.
Move to a different city/country.
Get a different car (or have no car).

Many of them are tied up with each other but one of them, at least, will happen. Unfortunately, given the current situation, economically and otherwise, it is not really the best time for any of them. However, needs must, as they say.

  1. Hi Andy-

I don’t ever follow through with New Year resolutions either.

One I must explore this year is my job situation and realistically how many hours I can work, effectively. Sometimes reality is harsh.

No complaints though, it is what it is or isn’t. Ya know?

Oh, and one more thing. I would like for us to hear each other’s voices in 2009. Want to plan that?

    Love,
    Gail
    peace……

  2. Small suggestion, that I’ll apply: no resolutions. It is the besti resolution you can have. In this way you can choose to do whatever you want, can, like, in the moment you want, can, like and not because on the 31st december, at midnight you thought: “I oughta do…”.

  3. How true Pietro. And these were definitely predictions and NOT resolutions. Believe me. And, since only one of them must be true (or more than one, or all of them) then I know I’m on to a certainty.
And they’re not in any order, just in case you were thinking they were.

  4. I made a resolution and stuck to it last year. I told my girlfriend that my resolution to consider giving up smoking. And true to my word, during each cigarette I think about giving up. And I do give up, until the next one…
