Opportunities occur in your life from time to time. Things that happen where choices must be made. As I have said before, I have been lucky in my life. But, with that luck, comes the taking of opportunities when they arise. One cannot sit there with one’s thumb in one’s mouth just waiting. Sure, things may happen and come one’s way unexpectedly – good or bad – but you still have to do something.
And, in my life, faced with someone saying that I cannot do something or that something is too difficult or, even, impossible, can, on occasion, make me fight that much harder to get what I want or what I think I want.
We came here and there were opportunities. I’m not sure that they were taken. I don’t regret what I have done and I feel that I have taken many of them but I feel that there were some, out of my control, that were allowed to slip by. The repercussions of which remain and which may have led to this point in my life.
Still, sometimes, you don’t recognise the significance or long-term effects of the choices and the actions you make.
I am very bad at taking opportunities… when I finally do normally I picked the wrong one. So I know regret quite well and I can tell that regret is a ugly thing that should be forced back with all the energy we have… regret isn’t true since the past isn’t true (it was, but isn’t).
