No one makes any bloody decisions around here!
Everything is talked about – endlessly. V is currently very frustrated by the fact that he can sit in a meeting (or many meetings) where people can say ‘yes, I agree with that action, in principle’ but nobody actually says ‘yes, I agree. Do it’.
I remember a court case that a company (C), was involved in. They were providing software for an organisation (TO) which didn’t think that they had done a good job and the statistics (which was the point of the software) weren’t good. C wanted their money, of course.
Well, it’s been a few days since my last post and a few things have been happening.
So, it’s Bank Holiday in the UK with cold, wet weather – there’s a surprise! If it’s any consolation to you, we too have colder and very, very wet weather as I write this. The difference is that it is not a Bank Holiday weekend so I am at work.
For the first time, as I’m not actually there, I’m reading about the Hay Festival and there’s both negative and positive. But I am amazed by the vitriol expounded by some bloggers.
N was telling me last night about her successful cockroach killing secret weapon. It seems that they have had a couple of them in her flat and it’s not just her apartment, but the whole building. The landlady gave her some bait to put down, which she duly did and then she saw the cockroach come along, dance for a while around the bait and then scamper off!
Well, today is the start of the 20th Hay Festival. I looked on the website as I was thinking of S and suddenly, I really miss the Festival. We won’t be going at all and this will be the first time in over 10 years that we won’t be there, in any role, punters, debenture holders or box office staff.
Yesterday, as I was posting the post below and changing a few things (because WordPress does funny things to the post sometimes – I think it’s the font that causes the problem), I checked my visitors and found someone else reading my blog at the same time! This is quite freaky. Those of you who have blogs that actually have visitors all the time may not appreciate how exciting this can be. I mean, we’re on the site exactly at the same time!
Finally, as the temperature had reached a whopping 32 degrees C, the air conditioning has been switched on! Hurrah!
There you go! I missed my visitor from Oregon. Checking my stats this morning – they didn’t visit last night. Oh well, they will probably never know that the post below was really for them.
